We'll look at the various forms documentary takes, as well as some of the ins and outs of vox popping, or interviewing, subjects - which should be considered before embarking on filming for any of the documentaries being produced in June/July!
Although the documentary is not a media format/genre we specifically tackle for either of the exams or the coursework units, it may be worth giving some thought beyond the work for the Music Video + IFEST days. Video being a key part of your blog, it may be useful to start considering working on some small-scale documentaries to use as part of your blog, not just occasional video diary entries! We also consider the British Documentary Movement as part of our work for the (G325) exam question on Media + Collective Identity.
